TrimSecrets is a weight management option produced in Scotland and sold to customers all over the world via the TrimSecrets website. It consists of two parts:
- The TrimSecrets diet plan (guide to healthy eating)
- TrimSecrets capsules
The diet came into being when the Scottish model Michelle Mone visited the health supplements specialist Jan de Vries and asked him to help her regain her once shapely figure. De Vries did just that. Mone lost six stones, began marketing the product as TrimSecrets, and has since increased the potency to double strength.
All sales are made via the official product website, which is easy to navigate and contains nice little stories about how the product came to be, along with plenty of customer success stories, but provides next to no information about how the formulation contained in the capsules is supposed to support weight loss.
Claims: To be a research drive natural slimming pill with science behind it
Positives: Has Jan De Vries behind it
Dieting the TrimSecrets Way
Content
Using the diet plan to guide them dieters must follow the TrimSecrets 5 Step Slimming Plan:
- Follow a healthy, balanced, calorie-controlled diet (1,500 calories)
- Take one TrimSecrets capsule 3 times a day (30 minutes before eating)
- Drink at least 1.5 liters of water each day
- Avoid stress and relax
- Take regular exercise
According to the NHS the average man requires around 2,500 calories a day, and women require 2,000, so 1,500 calories is insufficient for adults of either sex. When the human body does not attain sufficient calories from food sources it starts to burn off fat to provide extra energy, so step 1 alone should produce results. [source]
Such a reduction in calories can also trigger hunger pangs, but the capsules are designed to provide appetite suppression and quell any feelings of hunger. They also contain a fat burner (Sinetrol Xpur) to provide further weight loss, and a vitamin and mineral mix to ensure the dieting process does not rob the body of essential nutrients.
This is all excellent in theory, but stating what a product is supposed to do is not the same as explaining how and why it can achieve these things and the TrimSecrets website is woefully lacking in such information.
Key Ingredients
- Sinetrol Xpur® (300 mg): A proprietary fat burning blend.
- Fibersol2® (100 mg): A proprietary blend that is believed to effect insulin and glucose levels.
- Guarnana Extract (22% Caffeine): Provides an energy boost and may contribute to appetite suppression, but guarana can cause side effects that may include headaches, nausea, jitters, and heart palpitations.
The rest of the formulation consists of unspecified quantities of vitamins and minerals
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) | Iodine (Potassium Iodide) |
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) | Folacin (Folic Acid) |
Molybdenum (Ammonium Molybdate) | Chromium (Chloride) |
Biotin | Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate) |
Vitamin D2 | |
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) | Selenium (Methionine) |
PABA | Vitamin A (Acetate) |
Citrus Bioflavonoids | Inositol |
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCL) | Vitamin B1 (Thiamine HCL) |
Choline< (Bitartrate) | Iron (Gluconate) |
Vitamin B5(Calcium Pantothenate) | Manganese (Gluconate) |
Zinc (Gluconate) | Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide) |
Potassium (Gluconate) | Magnesium (Oxide) |
Vitamin E (Dl-Alpha Tocopherol) | Calcium (Carbonate) |
Many of these ingredients (including biotin, potassium) can cause side effects if the dosage is too high; so the lack of inclusion rates does not build confidence.
Media Focus
Several UK tabloids, including the Daily Mail and the Scottish Sun, have run stories about Michelle Mone and TrimSecrets; so her curvaceous body will have no doubt encouraged a few extra sales.
The British model, singer, and reality TV star Chanelle Hayes, also endorses the product and several UK magazines have printed pictures of her as she is now (shapely) standing beside a life-sized cardboard cutout of how she used to be (not a flattering look).
Trim Secrets Customer Feedback
Independent customer feedback is unavailable, but the product website showcases any number of positive comments, and more can be found on the TrimSecrets Facebook page—often accompanied by convincing before and after pictures.
Three typical testimonials read:
[plain]“I can notice a definite difference in my clothes. My work trousers do up with ease and I don’t have to discreetly undo them when I sit down!!!! My skin although usually very good seems to be brighter and less foundation needed.”[/plain]
[plain]”Having now been on trim secrets for 8 months I have lost 4 stones and have went from a size 20 to a size 12″[/plain]
[plain]”I’ve always been sceptical about diets but TrimSecrets has really helped changed my mind and I have successfully lost a stone in 8 weeks on the 5 step plan.”[/plain]
Side Effects & Other Considerations
TrimSecrets is a suitable for vegetarian use and is free from gluten and lactose, but some of the ingredients have been linked to side effects so the capsules are unlikely to be suitable for pregnant or nursing mothers. Anyone who is taking medication or who has any health issues or concerns should seek medical advice prior to use.
TrimSecrets Purchasing Options
TrimSecrets costs £14.95 plus shipping from the official website. Each box contains 42 capsules (a 2 week supply), and first time buyers are encouraged to purchase 2 boxes to allow the system time to work, but bulk buy savings are not available and there is no money back guarantee.
In Conclusion
The TrimSecrets customer feedback looks very good. Michelle Mone and Chanelle Hayes look equally good, so there can be no doubt that something has worked for them, but in all probability the low calorie diet will be the biggest contributing factor. Will the capsules have provided assistance? Quite possibly, but any number of competing products could provide similar assistance. TrimSecrets is not a bad product, neither does it appear to the best, but used in the recommended manner it will probably deliver the goods.
Recommended Alternative
Although TrimSecrets does have good credentials we recommend a fat burner called Capsiplex.
The chili diet pill has been a big seller in countries such as the UK, Ireland, United States, Canada and Australia.
